Botox® teaching tools for Allergen. March 24, 2005.A neurologist with the Southeast Neuroscience Center of Excellence in Houma was recently invited by Allergan Inc., the maker of Botox, to develop new teaching tools for doctors across the United States. Donald S. Gervais is addressing new injection guidelines and alternative uses for Botox, such as treatment for migraine headaches, chronic pain and armpit sweating. These uses have not yet been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. In addition, Gervais is scheduled to present the keynote address on Botox during the annual meeting of the Southern Society of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, to be held next month in New Orleans.
